End of an Era...

Well, after visiting WallyWorld today I saw they finally got a few boxes of 50 count Remington .357 Magnum. Yay for the team...!!! But wait...$46.97 a box plus tax... WTF...I guess the end of an era of cheap WW ammo is over. Yeah, they will continue to sell ammo but have hopped on board the price gouging train too...!!! EF em'...Buy online or at your local Gun Store...

Holy crap...damm I think I bought some last month for around $15 a box for 50 rounds. I may have to go check our local WW's to see if that's happening here too.

Hey at least your Wal-Mart has ammo to buy...

Agreed about online or a local gun shop. Better selection anyway.

You sure that's for 50 rounds? Sounds way high. A local Big 5 sporting goods has #100 count winchester .45 acp this week for $41.99. I can't believe they are cheaper than Wal Mart. Big 5 also has #100 count .40 cal for $35.99, and 9mm for $25.99. I was buying those #100 count boxes of 9mm Winchester on sale just a year ago for $16.99! Shit is going up, that's for sure! I believe .357 at Big 5 runs about $35.00 for #50 count for the good stuff!

Will all you people STOP with this "price gouging" CRAP?

If you want to blame someone for the increase in prices, look at the Obamanation, or perhaps more appropriately, his tens of millions of Kool-Aid guzzlers who voted for him.

Prices are NOT coming down, EVER.

This is textbook supply & demand. I'd bet 99 other guys would have taken your box of ammo, and not complained, if they could have. The price goes up when the demand rises, in this case, not subtly but sharply. World trade has fallen off a cliff, so I imagine supplies of brass, lead, and chemicals for the powder are way up (regardless of the probably also fake COMEX pricing).

When the demand abates some, which would normally bring the price down due to reduced demand, the Obamanation's ammo tax will be in place.

My local WW finally got some more 100 rd. value packs of Federal .223 (55 gr. FMJ). They're the same price they were 3 months ago when they last had them. :ok:

WalMart 02/07/09 - Bought one 100 round box of .380 Auto (USA380VP) - $31.97 + tax. Last box on the shelf. Surprisingly, they did have a few boxes of Winchester brand 7.62 x 39 mm. Absolutely no .45 ACP, .357 Magnum or 9mm. According to salesperson, one customer bought $600+ in various pistol calibers a few hours earlier this morning.
Take care,
Mod1

My local Wally World has boxes of 550 rounds 22 rimfire for $13.50. Just a couple of years ago, they were $7.50.
